It is a very exciting time to join Parkside School which, in September 2023, joined Wellspring Academy Trust that was recently awarded the title of Multi Academy Trust of the year. We have a new Principal, new uniform and school curriculum, a new coaching model for students and staff; as such, we are on an exciting journey. We are looking for like-minded, motivated staff to join us. Wellspring Academy Trust is known for its inclusive practice and these values are matched by Parkside School. ‘We make a difference’ - if you have the same philosophy, this may be the job for you.
Details of Wellspring Academy Trust can be found at: https://wellspringacademytrust.co.uk/
We are looking for an excellent teacher with a SEND specialism and a strong understanding of teaching pedagogy who is ready to support the learning and progress within our Resourced Provision (RP).
The successful candidate will work in our Resourced Provision to support students with an EHCP with a primary focus of Communication and Interactive needs including autism. They will work with the highly supportive RP lead (Deputy SENDCO) and the Assistant Principal for Inclusion (SENDCO). You will be responsible for delivering a curriculum that links into our mainstream offer, and also enables our students to be successful and to prepare them for later life. Inclusive thinking needs to be at the forefront of all teachers’ practice, and as a teacher in the RP you will lead on this practice.
Our Resourced Provision is a newly expanded, bespoke RP facility with places for 24 students with EHCPs working in a hybrid model in school. The post holder will work with students across the age ranges.
The role would suit someone with a background in the primary phase/sector, as well as colleagues who are trained specialist SEN teachers or those from a secondary phase background.
Whilst a background in English or Maths would be an advantage, the most important attribute is a colleague with the skills and aptitude to plan and deliver content to students within the Resourced Provision.
Whilst delivering the curriculum within the Resourced Provision, the post holder will be fully involved in a mainstream school and undertake CPD alongside the wider staff body.
Wellspring Academy Trust and Parkside School believe in investing in our staff. This post may appeal to a teacher who has aspirations of senior leadership in the near future and there are training packages to develop future leaders as applicable.
Our vision for Parkside School is that Parkside School should visibly and substantively impact the community it is embedded within. This impact should be important, meaningful and considerable. This means young people from Parkside should develop into well-rounded young people who know how to keep themselves safe. We want students to have a personal and specific hope for the future which they can articulate, believe in and share with others; students who can empathise, critique, protect, love, inspire, make, design, explore and understand; students who are willing to try things they have never done before, do things they don’t want to do and be willing to reinvent themselves to become the best that they can be.
To take Parkside forward, we will need to be courageous. We will need to try new things, be open to change and have the courage to put ourselves out of our comfort zones in order to grow.
To book an informal phone conversation / virtual meeting about this role with the Assistant Principal for Inclusion (SENDCO), Heather Woodstock, please contact Kath Jackson, PA to the Senior Team kathryn.jackson@parksideschool.net to arrange a suitable time.
If you are as excited by this challenge as we are and you think this might be the role for you, please apply by submitting a complete application form, having taken note of the attachments by 9am on Friday 14th February 2025.
Commitment to safeguarding
Wellspring Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. All posts are offered subject to enhanced DBS checks. As this role involves working with children in regulated activity, please note that it is an offence to apply for the role if barred from engaging in regulated activity with children.
References will be requested and an online search carried out for shortlisted candidates, prior to interview. Further pre-employment checks, including prohibition from teaching, childcare disqualification and section 128 checks, if relevant for the role, will be completed for the successful candidate upon acceptance of the post.

Parkside School and locality
We want all of our schools to make a positive contribution to the community that they are embedded within. This impact should be meaningful, considerable and lasting.
We want the young people of Parkside school to have every available opportunity to develop into well-rounded citizens who are equipped to make a positive contribution and who know how to keep themselves safe. We want students to have passionate hopes for their future; hopes that they can articulate, believe in and make real. We want to develop a nurturing environment that develops students who can empathise, critique, protect, love, inspire, make, design, explore and understand; students who are willing to try things they have never tried before, do things they have never done before and who are willing to risk reimagining themselves as the very best version of what they can become.
Located in the picturesque village of Cullingworth, Parkside School is surrounded by rolling hills and dramatic countryside.
The village, three miles south of Keighley and seven miles west of central Bradford, is not only popular with commuters but also with tourists, walkers and cyclists who revel in some of the country’s most glorious scenery.
The locality is steeped in history; the Brontë Parsonage Museum and its famous literary collections lie less than five miles east.
Also on the doorstep is the Saltaire World Heritage Site; a Victorian model village that is home to Salts Mill, which itself boasts striking architecture, eateries and shopping.
