What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the exciting further development of our existing, high-quality ARP provision, we are seeking an experienced, passionate and committed SEND Teacher to join our team within the ARP for pupils with ASD and Speech, Language & Communication Difficulties. You will teach a class of up to 10 pupils with a range of needs, working collaboratively with two other experienced and skilled teachers supported by a team of dedicated support staff to cater for the needs of all pupils so that they can reach their potential. Our most recent Ofsted report (April 2023) highlights the ‘Leaders make sure that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), access the same rich curriculum. Pupils with more complex needs are very well supported.’
What the school offers its staff
Beaconsfield Primary School is a vibrant, over-subscribed and welcoming school with ‘outstanding pupil behaviour’ where all pupils are nurtured to believe in themselves and others and to persevere through challenges in order to succeed. We see all pupils as individuals and that everyone’s learning journey is different and we therefore ensure that we cater for the needs of all within an environment that is supportive for both pupils and staff. Our ARP classes are housed in a modern, purpose-built facility with sensory and soft playrooms in addition to the large, low-arousal classrooms and separate outdoor play spaces. We have our own on-site speech & language therapist, counsellor & occupational therapist and a well-trained, highly committed team of specialist support staff. We believe that small steps of progress should be celebrated and acknowledged from each child’s starting point.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
