SEND Teacher job summary
In our Nursery Class at Farnborough Grange Nursery and Infant School, we have an Early Years Static Hub for a limited number of children with significant/complex needs, as identified by Hampshire SEND department. The grouping together of pupils with specific types of SEN in designated schools allows high-quality provision to be made for pupils with similar needs . The emphasis is on providing inclusion within the mainstream setting and curriculum as far as possible, although some individual and small group teaching is provided where necessary depending on the needs of the individuals.
As Teacher in Charge of the provision, you will have specific responsibilities in addition to the normal expectations of a teacher, and these are set out in the recruitment pack. You will work alongside the Early Years Lead with close support from the Assistant Head and Inclusion Lead. The Good Shepherd Trust currently comprises 21 schools and our vision is "Be better, together, to ensure an ambitious education for every child in every school every day" so we work collaboratively as much as possible. We are committed to establishing academies which educate the whole child, for wholeness of life, in the heart of their community. Our hub structure provides further opportunities for collaborative working within the local area. We are committed to supporting professional development for all our staff and provide a range of employee benefits which help make us an employer of choice.
We would love to hear from interested candidates and please do call the school to arrange an informal visit to find out more.
Salary is main scale or UPS plus an SEND allowance.

On behalf of the Trust, local governing committee and staff team, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Farnborough Grange Nursery / Infant School, where we are committed to giving children the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in later life.
We are a Church of England affiliated academy based in North Hampshire, part of The Good Shepherd Trust family, for children from 4 to 7 years old.. We also have a nursery which welcomes children from 2 years old.
At the heart of everything that we do are the children. The years they spend with us are an extremely precious time of enormous growth and change. We seek to make every opportunity a learning experience and harness the value out of every moment of every day. You will see from much of the content of this website, how central the children are and what fantastic ambassadors they are for the younger generation. As a school community, we are proud to provide a happy, positive environment where the children have the aspiration and self-belief to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
Although learning is our core purpose, so is friendship, challenge, exploration and collaboration. It is our role to ensure that every child who passes through our school, has the nursery and infant school experience that they richly deserve.
We know that every child has the capacity for success and we have tailored our enquiry-based curriculum to enable our children to learn about the world around them, trying a wide variety of experiences and discovering and succeeding in their own talents and passions.
This website aims to give you a taste of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both pupils and parents. You can view our virtual school tour here.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you get a taste of our whole-school ethos. If you would like to see the school in session, or if you have any queries, please contact the school office.
Thank you for visiting!
