SEND Teacher job summary

Inspire the young people at Harris Academy Orpington. We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic qualified SEND Teacher to work alongside our SENCO and join our academy of committed staff.

Your opportunity

Your role will include:

Devising and delivering appropriate literacy and language programmes to a range of students with identified special educational needs and/or literacy difficulties
Reviewing and reporting on the progress of students attending taught literacy and language interventions
Supporting the assessment and identification of students for Catch up and SEN literacy and language interventions.
Supporting the application of access arrangements
Contributing to the identification and review of strategies and advice for teaching and support staff included on Profiles of Need and in Student SEN Profiles
Contributing to the Annual Review process
Working collaboratively with mainstream colleagues to ensure that they are including Quality First Teaching Strategies and other relevant strategies from Student SEN Profiles for literacy and language within teaching and learning
Contributing to whole Academy literacy initiatives

What we are looking for

We look for talented individuals who want to be a part of transforming education in London, and helping create exceptional places of learning.

We are seeking a committed professional with vibrant enthusiasm to work with and our brilliant students with SEND. You will need to be a highly specialist SEN teacher with a postgraduate qualification in Dyslexia, Speech and Language or Literacy. We will consider those nearing the end of their qualification.

You will receive the excellent support of an internal academy CPD programme but also externally across the Federation. You will join a very positive, willing and committed team who will challenge and support you.

You must hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree to be considered for this role.
