Ready to inspire the next generation during our launch of a differentiated curriculum? Harris Academy is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher to deliver a specialist differentiated curriculum to our Year 7 and 8 cohort.

Your opportunity

As part of a dedicated faculty team, your role will be:

To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
To share and support the academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

As SEND Teacher the successful candidate will be required to:

Deliver the national curriculum in a personalised and differentiated approach
Contribute to the development of support staff, pupils, school policies and strategies;
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources;
Provide support for pupils, in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils, by planning engaging lessons, and by using effective monitoring and assessment strategies.
Encourage pupils to become independent learners;
Provide support for their welfare and support the inclusion of our pupils in all aspects of academy life.
Be committed to on-going professional development;
Contribute to the wider life at the academy;
Be innovative, highly motivated and eager to take a lead.
