What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher who wishes to work in a unique environment. The role will expose you to challenging situations involving pupils with significant Special Educational Needs; therefore experience of working with students with Autism would be advantageous.
What the school offers its staff
In return, you will work with inquisitive and enthusiastic students and you will join a team of committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring students are prepared for the years beyond education and are supported to pursue their dreams. The Medeshamstede Academy opened in a new building in June 2013 to provide education for students from 4- 16. There are currently 107 students on roll and they all have autism as their main presenting need. The Academy is on a rapid improvement journey and the new leadership team are working hard to ensure students receive the best education possible.

About us:
Medeshamstede Academy opened in 2012 as a new, purpose-built provision within Greenwood Academies Trust. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care plan with autism as their main presenting need. Our curriculum is broad and relevant; delivered through termly themed imaginative learning projects which support appropriate pre-formal, semi-formal and formal learning pathways towards independent learning. In key stage 4, a range of accreditation is offered from entry level to GCSE to prepare pupils for their next stage of education.
