SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Post) job summary
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to work within our school across BOTH mainstream and ARP settings. This is an exciting challenge for committed staff with proven previous experience working in primary school settings to come and work at Beaconsfield Primary. This role is initially offered as a fixed term position until 31st December 2023.
Beaconsfield Primary School is a well-resourced 2-form entry school with a 28 place ARP unit that offers a very supportive environment to staff and pupils. Our classes are well-equipped with built in class fittings, quality furnishings, excellent IT equipment and access to specialist facilities such as library, soft-play and sensory rooms along with a cooking room.
We are looking for dynamic, inspirational staff members who have:
• A completed NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in an aspect of child care, early years or SEND practice
• proven experience of working within a primary school learning environment (within the last 5 years)
• excellent numeracy and literacy skills (Equivalent to GCSE Grade A-C) (tested at interview)
• excellent spoken and written English language skills (tested at interview)
• willingness to provide personal care, feeding and close-contact hygiene to pupils as required
• ability to co-operate and work as part of a team and to be pro-active in using own initiative
• an ability to manage the behaviour of groups of children within a classroom environment
• a commitment and passion for inclusive education along with a patient, flexible and positive manner
And a staff member who is able to:
• follow differentiated planning, other specialist programmes and individual learning plans with patience and calmness to ensure pupils are fully participating in activities and sessions.
• build and maintain effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration
