Job summary

• To lead strategic development and day to day operation of SEND policy and provision, including for medical need, consistently within the Academy
• To promote excellence in all professional practice and outstanding outcomes for students with SEND, including academic progress and other progression indicators
• To provide high quality leadership and management including for the SEND Team

Degree

Essential qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status
National Award for SEND
Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)

Essential skills and experience

Excellent classroom practitioner
Experience of leadership including training
Full knowledge of KCSIE, SEND needs and an understanding of statutory processes, SEND Code of Practice, EHCP’s and support services
Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and evaluate interventions
Data analysis skills and use of data in provision planning
