SENDCo job summary
We are seeking an outstanding, inspirational and dynamic qualified teacher two days a week to take on the SENDCo role at Axe Valley Academy. This offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious, creative and enthusiastic individual to lead the SEND Department within the context of the whole Academy vision.
Uffculme Academy Trust is delighted to be in a position to offer this exciting post to an enthusiastic and committed SENDCo at our East Devon Academy: Axe Valley. This is a particularly exciting period in our development as we develop our partnership with Uffculme Academy Trust. The Multi -Academy Trust currently includes Uffculme School, one of the most successful schools in the country and Uffculme Primary School as well as a teaching school (WCTSA) and from September, we will be in the enviable position of working in a highly successful family of schools providing education from 4-19 with exceptional opportunities for career progression.
Axe Valley currently has approximately 600 students in Years 7–11. The Academy is located in the East Devon area of the country, in the beautiful market town of Axminster, which is set on the River Axe. Axminster is just a few miles inland from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site but has excellent rail links to London and Exeter.
The post holder, with the support the SLT and Board of Governors, will undertake a strategic and sustained responsibility and lead the SEND department. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work with the Assistant SENDCo and the Senior Learning Support Co-ordinator to ensure all students on SEND support (including ECHP’s) receive their full entitlement and have access to a relevant curriculum.
