We are seeking an excellent colleague to strategically lead on SEND and Alternative Provision through a Centre for Excellence where all children may grow and thrive. You will be joining a school that has high expectations and high aspirations for all of our students. Applications are welcome from both experienced SENCo’s and someone who is currently a Deputy SENCo or an experienced teacher ready for the next step. Potential for this role to develop and join the Leadership Team is an option.
Staff are engaged with professional development and are supported in exploring new ideas. The successful candidate will be an excellent SEND practitioner or Teacher with a proven record of outstanding teaching with a strong commitment to inclusion and school improvement.
We invest heavily in CPD/ training and have fantastic links with other schools and professional organisations. New ideas and approaches are welcomed with open arms and coaching is used to unlock potential. We work very closely with our ‘family’ of partner schools and are currently the strategic lead for a unique teaching and learning project.
As part of the Bohunt Education Trust, there are plenty of opportunities for support, development and progression. We have a strong desire to create a unique, innovative and rich educational climate underpinned by co-planning and collaboration between professionals, which has the possibility to lead to additional responsibilities with necessary skills and attributes to have a real impact upon our SEND provision at Bohunt Worthing.

We have nine secondary schools across four local authorities: Hampshire, Portsmouth, West Sussex and Wokingham; Bohunt Horsham opened in September 2019, and the newest addition, Bohunt Farnborough joined in January 2024. Bohunt School Worthing is based in a central location in Worthing; a coastal town on the South Coast in West Sussex. With easy access to the A27; centrally between Chichester and Brighton, and also the A24 and the A23. We are well served by public transport, with a train station within walking distance and a bus route on our doorstep.
