SENDCO job summary
Are you passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive? We are seeking a dedicated SENCO to join our team and lead our Special Educational Needs provision.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified teacher and a qualified SENCO or working towards the accreditation
- Is passionate about the welfare of children and their learning
- Is highly organised, patient and resilient.
- Has a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and needs.
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Wants to further their career and be part of the senior leadership team
With the support of a full time SEN assistant and a team of LSA’s you will:
Lead the strategic development of our SEN policy and provision, ensuring it aligns with the latest research and best practices in the field.
Take responsibility for the day-to-day provision to support SEN pupils, providing guidance and support to teachers and staff to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Work closely with external agencies, the local borough, parents, and staff to ensure a holistic approach to supporting SEN students, fostering effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders.
Develop and maintain high-quality EHCPs for SEN students, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential.
Work with our team at The Rainbow Centre for 10 ASC pupils (our resource base)
