What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and visionary leader who will enrich and further develop this area of the school. You will be an experienced teacher who can use your plethora of skills to enhance the SEN provision in the school.
As SENDCO you will be an excellent communicator and be driven to take responsibility for the co-ordination and development of this key area of school. You will lead a team of LSA’s, supporting students and staff to achieve their best by removing the barriers to learning with a focus on the vision, policy (including the delivery of the statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice) and oversee the provision for all SEND students. You will have a teaching commitment of up to 20 lessons per fortnight. SEND is overseen by the Head of Learning Support.
The successful candidate would be a qualified teacher with knowledge and experience of supporting students with additional needs, line management of teaching & learning support assistants. teaching students with SEND who holds or will commit to train for the National Qualification Award for SEN Co-ordination.
