What skills and experience we're looking for

Seal is a thriving primary school in the outskirts of Sevenoaks which offers an inclusive curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils.

Due to the restructure of the federation, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational leader to join both the Seal and Inspire team.

Seal has a higher percentage of pupils with SEND than other local schools and are proud to say that we have an inclusive approach which enables pupils with SEND to thrive.

The successful candidate will have experience in leading SEND across the primary phase. The position will be full time, non teaching; enabling them to work with staff to provide the very best outcomes for their pupils and ensure the curriculum is accessed appropriately and effectively. We are lucky enough to be able to offer the support of an assistant 3 mornings per week to help with assessments and observations. In addition, the Federation has an Executive SENCo who works across the Federation supporting the SENCos in each school.

We are looking for someone that has:

  • SEND leadership experience (qualification preferrable)
  • proven track record as a 'good' or better teacher
  • Experience of whole school leadership
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as leading a team
  • Experience of holding staff to account for quality of provision
  • Experience of raising standards
  • Knowledge of current SEND legislation
  • Knowledge of a range of interventions available
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to have difficult conversations while showing empathy
  • Excellent organisational skills and is proactive

What the school offers its staff

In return, the inspire federation can offer:

  • The very best working environment where everyone follows a well-being and culture charter which sets out clear expectations of behaviours and attitudes of all staff
  • Leadership coaching and CPD (including an Executive SENCo)
  • A supportive team of leaders and staff (including an assistant SENCo)
  • Opportunities for growth and personal development

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person as Seal is on an upwards trajectory and goes from strength to strength every year. It is an amazing school to be part of; we have a shared vision and the most committed team of staff.

Visits are recommended, please contact the school office to book an appointment with either the Head of School or Executive SENCo on 01732762388 or email office@inspirefederation.co.uk
