Batley Multi Academy Trust’s sole purpose is to provide a great education for Primary and Secondary learners throughout a local family of schools. The Trust is passionately committed to the communities of Batley, Birstall, Dewsbury and our surrounding areas, serving our local learners and their families in order to secure excellent educational outcomes, partnered with high aspirations. Batley Multi Academy Trust currently comprises Batley Girls’ High School, Batley Grammar School, Field Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Healey Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Manorfield Infant and Nursery School and Upper Batley High School. We provide high quality education for all young people. This collaboration enables us to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to ensure academic and pastoral excellence throughout all of our schools, with all schools embracing the same overall ethos and values, whilst maintaining their own unique characters.

Upper Batley High School was identified as a Beacon School in the Northern Challenge report due to the excellent progress our disadvantaged learners make. We also hold the Gold Award for Mental Health & Wellbeing, the PSHCE Charter Mark, the Careers Quality Standard and we are a lead school within the Kirklees Careers Hub. We are one of only a few schools in the UK to achieve 100% in all Gatsby benchmarks. Ofsted identified our careers programme as a “real strength of the school” and we are in the top 14% of all schools nationally.

Our 11-16 school is multi-cultural and located close to the town centre, within easy access of the motorway network. Our work is focused on developing the unique potential of every individual whilst working towards becoming an outstanding educational organisation. We are a vibrant, rich and exciting learning community with unique and inspiring opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is passionate about securing an excellent quality of education for our SEND students. The candidate will have a clear vision about how to remove barriers to learning and will have a forensic approach to securing the best possible outcomes for our SEND learners, working in close partnership with parents/carers.

The successful candidate will be a champion and advocate for students with SEND, who is a strong ‘team player’ and has a strategic, solution–focussed approach, promoting inclusivity at all levels. They will have a thorough knowledge of best practice and should either have the SENDCo qualification or be in the process of securing this. We are looking for an individual with high aspirations to progress in their professional career.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive forward thinking Trust, who in return for your commitment and hard work, will support you to achieve your own career goals and aspirations.

Please contact the People and Talent team on 01924 942075/ recruitment@batleymat.co.uk, if you have any questions or to arrange a visit.
