What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic teacher to be our new SEND Leader. We are seeking a qualified teacher to develop and enhance our work with our SEND and most vulnerable pupils. The appointment will include a minimum four days a week (0.8) being the SEN leader. There may be an opportunity to be the assistant headteacher for inclusion for a skilled and experienced candidate.

Therefore, we welcome applications from teachers with the following qualities:

  • Drive and creative flair to support teachers to deliver challenging lessons for SEND learners
  • High expectations of achievement, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Experience of and empathy towards working with children with SEND children
  • Ambition to be an excellent leader of SEND
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, teachers and agencies alike
  • Experience of implementation and monitoring of intervention programmes
  • A commitment to the wider life of the school and embrace opportunities for change
  • Interest in joining our safeguarding team

What the school offers its staff

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, inclusive and friendly school dedicated to a broad and balanced curriculum. Following a ‘good’ inspection in March 2022 and the arrival of our new headteacher in January 2023, we are on the next stage of our school’s journey.

We can offer you:

  • Membership of a committed and proactive leadership team
  • A stimulating and exciting experience, in a well-resourced school
  • Commitment towards your professional development including specific SEN training
  • Friendly and supportive colleagues
  • Pupils who want to learn and whom have impeccable behaviour

A SEND qualification and experience is desirable, however, the school invites candidates who are willing and keen to undertake training.

This position is a permanent position.

Salary enhancements may be awarded to an experienced and highly talented candidate.

If you think you are up for this exciting challenge, then please contact us on 01344-861020 to arrange a visit to see our school. Our headteacher Alexandra Butler can be contacted directly on head@whitegroveprimary.co.ukfor further information.
