What skills and experience we're looking for
Poplar Farm is a new school which opened in September 2018. We are a warm, caring, inclusive and vibrant school where pupils are at the heart of every decision we make. Poplar Farm pupils are happy and confident, they are problem solvers, open minded, resilient and motivated to learn. We have a generous school site, with creative, bespoke learning areas both inside and outside.
The school is part of CIT (Community Inclusive Trust), a Multi Academy Trust comprising of special and mainstream primary schools across Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
We are looking to appoint -SENDCO Assistant and Intervention TA
Are you an outstanding practitioner with creative and imaginative ideas?
Do you want to work in a role where you can really make a difference to children across the school and have a positive impact on their learning?
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Working alongside the SENDCO to support children on the SEND register meet their IEP targets.
- Attending SEND review meetings and take minutes.
- Liaising with external agencies and parents.
- Planning and delivering bespoke interventions to children across the whole school.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has high expectations of learning and behaviour both of themselves and the children in their groups.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the most recent teaching strategies to deliver targeted support to a range of abilities.
- Has teaching knowledge of the whole school curriculum, and is able to support children make progress within the curriculum.
- Has a caring and positive attitude.
- Can use their initiative and has the ability to manage their own time.
- Is able to contribute to the review of their impact to the children’s progress and their learning.
- Is efficient in record keeping with regards to SEND paperwork and pupil files.
- Has good communication skills, both written and oral with staff, children, parents and outside agencies.
