Senior Assistant Headteacher - Pastoral Care and Standards job summary

Due to the growth in student numbers, we are now looking to appoint an experienced and highly effective senior leader to support the Headteacher in the next phase of the Academy’s development.

This is a new role to reflect the priority we place on excellent pastoral care and on education that is rooted in high expectations and aspirations for all our students. The Senior Assistant Headteacher will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of all pastoral policies and practices. This includes behaviour and attendance.

The focus of responsibility for the post will be the strategic development of the Pastoral Care for all students, the outcomes at KS4 and Pupil Premium students across the Academy. The successful candidate will have the potential and desire to be active and influential across the whole leadership spectrum. As such it will provide a firm preparation for those considering going on to Deputy Headship.

The successful candidate will have an intelligent grasp of raising standards and achievement through excellent pastoral care, guidance and support. They will also have experience of raising standards and achievement for KS4 students and those in receipt of Pupil Premium.
