About the role
The Senior Behaviour Mentor will play a vital role within the Inclusion team at Orion Eden Park in supporting with the leadership of behaviour across the school.
Key Accountabilities
Support the leadership of behaviour across the school, including:
o Supervising specific areas of the behaviour suite
o Leading on the implementation and delivery of behaviour support systems
o Designing, delivering and monitoring the efficacy of the behaviour curriculum
o Meeting with external agencies to ensure a continuity / accuracy of provision to support students with a range of specific behavioral needs
o Liaising with the SEND / EAL leadership to ensure accurate diagnosis of need, working collaboratively when required
Be responsible for the direct management of members of the behaviour management team
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
Under the leadership of the Assistant Principal, to work with school staff, the Inclusion Team, and external agencies, to provide support and guidance for students across the school. This will develop a culture of success, praise, and celebration of achievement.
Supporting on the CAF processes and actions related to them, including with external agencies
To ensure clarity of communication with parents and carers regarding behaviour events, updating as necessary via telephone calls, letters and/ or emails to inform them their child has been referred to specific support or sanction
Be highly visible during line-ups, transitions and break times
Attend all relevant meetings to do with behaviour and teaching and learning
Act as a mentor or key worker for certain pupils
Liaise with all relevant partners across the school to ensure early identification of pupils at risk of disengagement
To act as part of the strategic safeguarding team and ensure that safeguarding is effective and child protection actions implemented
Where appropriate, ask teachers for feedback on student work
Be aware and comply with all safeguarding policies
