What skills and experience we're looking for
• Be committed to the distinctiveness of our Church Federation school ethos and the promotion of Christian values;
• Be able to lead rapid and sustained school improvement in a specified area (subject leadership);
• Deputise as a DSL in the absence of the Head of School;
• Have a clear understanding of outstanding teaching and learning across the primary phase;
• Have the drive to lead areas of school improvement, in order to make a substantial contribution to the school’s and federation’s future development;
• Be able to successfully challenge and address barriers which potentially stand in the way of pupil progress;
• Work in partnership with the governing body, parents and the local community to develop continuous improvement within the school and with the Federation.
What the school offers its staff
We are a well-established Federation which is entering a new phase of its journey following the arrival of a new Executive Headteacher in September 2022 and a new Head of School at West Butterwick CE Primary School in January 2023. The successful postholder will work alongside the Head of School and will be supported by a committed and experienced team of federation staff and governors who work collaboratively across all 3 schools.
Further details about the role
During the morning, the role will be either to teach a small class of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils (approx. 16 pupils), and in the afternoon to take responsibility for an additional 6 Reception pupils, along with support staff and flexible learning spaces. Alternatively, the role would be to teach a class of KS2 pupils from Year 3-6 with TA support, including to split the children into phases for core subjects. This role is not suitable for ECTs.
