Job description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Leader, with ambitions to lead a school in the future, to join Greenfield Community College in the new post of Senior Deputy Headteacher. At Greenfield we offer our 950+ students’ extraordinary opportunities and as a key part of our Senior Team you will ensure that each and every student can take advantage of every aspect of school life, developing fully as ambitious, confident, self-led learners. The new Deputy Headteacher will lead across our two sites and work with the Executive Headteacher to continue the rapid improvement of the school. Precise responsibilities will be agreed with the successful candidate dependant on prior experience.

Your place of work will be Greenfield Community College which has two sites, one in Newton Aycliffe and one in Shildon. You may be required to work in any of the two school sites.

The post holder will have a honours degree and QTS

A proven record of Senior Leadership
A clear vision and understanding of school improvement
A developed understanding of curriculum
Knowledge and understanding of systems to achieve a high quality of education
Understanding of the personal development agenda
Understanding of the inclusion and behaviour agenda
Developed knowledge and ability to embed effective whole school initiatives
Ability to review, implement and lead on performance data leading to effective Quality Assurance and self-evaluation
Knowledge and understanding of managing Middle Leader development and accountability
Understanding and knowledge of current strategic issues in education
Understanding and commitment to effective student voice to promote learning
Understanding of formative and summative assessment and their use to inform targets for student progress
