The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint a skilled Senior Design Technology Technician to support our thriving department on a Fixed Term basis.You will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Design & Technology department with technical support to deliver the curriculum to students whilst championing health and safety awareness. Other responsibilities include obtaining stock, re-ordering, checking deliveries and undertaking annual stock checks across the Food and Design department.As Senior DT Technician, you will also manage and oversee the development of technical staff within the DT department.What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience of working in an education environment and with young people
  • Knowledge of using and handling equipment within a Design Technology department
  • An understanding of the importance of Health & Safety
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages and databases
  • Educated to a minimum requirement of Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and Science
  • Hold a current clean valid driving licence. MIDAS Training will be supplied if required
