What skills and experience we're looking for
- Experience of producing agendas and accurate, concise minutes, meeting statutory requirements
- Experience of producing, collating and circulating documents to meet strict deadlines
- Previous experience of working in a school/Trust environment
- Previous governance experience, either within education or other sector
- Knowledge of school governance procedures
- Evidence of organising own time and working to strict deadlines
- Ability to maintain efficient, accurate records
- Awareness of need to act with sensitivity and objectivity in dealing with all governance matters
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and dedicated software such as Governor Hub
- Ability to undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties
What the school offers its staff
We are a partnership of 15 primary and secondary schools, employing over 1,000 staff, delivering education to 7,000 children and young people aged 2-18 to schools in Bradford, Harrogate and Skipton.
We are looking for ambitious governance professional looking to develop their career at a senior level within a growing trust.
As part of the Corporate Affairs Team, the Senior Governance Professional will provide support to schools’ local governing bodies (LGBs) and also Trustees on the main board. As well as supporting LGBs personally, the postholder will co-ordinate the work of a small number of governance clerks. The postholder will also work closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs to support the main Trust Board and its committees.
The Trust is currently undertaking a governance review to streamline processes to ensure that they remain appropriate for a growing Trust. The postholder will contribute to the design and implementation of that review.
