Senior ICT Technician job summary
Ormiston NEW Academy, recently graded Ofsted 'Good', is a school based on a clear and defined pedagogical model and explicitly taught behavioural norms. This is creating a place of joy, industry and excellence that is rapidly growing. The latest inspection report praises the school’s leaders for creating a "culture where positive behaviour and discipline are celebrated". It says that NEW Academy is a “vibrant school”, that students “enjoy coming to” and where they are “safe”. Students at NEW Academy understand that they must try their best and strive for excellence at all times." In the most recent Ofsted inspection one student told inspectors, “I know that today will not be my best, because tomorrow will be better”.
The overall purpose of this post is to:
- Provide ICT technical support and services for the academy
- Support the use of ICT through maintenance of software, hardware, and related equipment, and providing support to staff and students to ensure administration and learning outcomes are maximised
- Provide training and coaching to enable access to systems to maximise student learning and improve delivery whilst reducing workload for staff
- Be part of a team providing specialist resource support across the academy and as effectively as possible to support curriculum delivery, ensuring that communications and reports are made in a timely manner that meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders including compliance with relevant OAT Head Office policies and processes as needed.
