Senior ICT Technician job summary
Rainham Mark Education Trust has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team based in the Trust offices to develop and enhance their technical ability. As a Senior ICT Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Trust’s IT infrastructure. Your role will involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting staff and students with technical queries, and ensuring the smooth operation of our digital systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems for computers, printers, and other devices
- Install, configure, and maintain ICT equipment, including laptops, PC’s, and Tablets
- Provide technical support to staff and students, both in person and remotely
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of audio-visual equipment in classrooms and meeting rooms
- Collaborate with other team members to implement security measures and data protection protocols
- Keep accurate records of equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance tasks
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant Experience - Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting
- Technical Proficiency - Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts
- Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Communication - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Team Player - Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment but also work independently when required
- Certifications - Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are advantageous but not mandatory
- As the post requires onsite support to all schools within the Trust, the successful candidate should have their own transport
