What skills and experience we're looking for

Following promotion of the current postholder, we are looking to appoint an an energetic and highly motivated candidate to be our lead for safeguarding and pastoral care across school.

We are looking to appoint someone with a relentless commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people to achieve their potential.

Due to the complex nature of our pupils, an understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND and the barriers to learning these pupils face is essential.

We welcome applications from caring, passionate and committed practitioners with relevant experience in areas such as; education, social care and health services who have:

Experience in the role of a DSL
Experience of working with children and young people with SEND
Experience of working in partnership with outside agencies and support services
Experience in a leadership role
Experience of pastoral interventions to support young people
The ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis
A commitment to working effectively with all members of the Samuel Laycock team
Strong organisation and time management skills

Samuel Laycock is delighted to be part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT) having joined on 1st April 2022. The Trust is a growing family of schools catering for young people aged 4 to 19 with an EHCP currently in the local authorities of Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale.
