Senior Leader of English job summary

• To be responsible for the development of English within the Academy, and the necessary improvements in outcomes for students
• As a key senior Academy-wide leader, to share responsibility for the Academy’s strategic direction and operational effectiveness, and be responsible for embedding this within English
• To have input in to the whole school teaching and learning strategy and its implementation, as part of a small team of senior leaders
• To lead on the development and implementation of an effective, whole school literacy and reading strategies
• For overseeing the academic and social development of all students, particularly within English
• To lead on specific whole Academy strategic responsibilities, to ensure the Academy’s key priorities are met
• To develop, and successfully embed, an innovative curriculum for English.
• To ensure the curriculum in English is rigorous and robust
