What skills and experience we're looking for

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or UK NARIC recognised

Evidence of recent and relevant professional development

EXPERIENCE

An innovative, creative teacher (QTS) with proven excellent classroom practice (indoors and outdoors) in a state - maintained school setting

Experience of leading the assessment for learning cycle and data analysis

Experience of differentiating the curriculum to meet a range of abilities and implementing positive behaviour strategies

Uses ICT to support teaching and learning, record keeping and as a management tool

JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE / ATTITUDE

A reflective practitioner, with excellent knowledge of the EYFS and current legislation, and ability to embrace new initiatives and developments in education

Able to actively contribute to safeguarding and well-being systems

An understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities and the principles of inclusion in a nursery school setting

SKILLS

Proven track record of successful pupil progress and achievement for a range of pupil groups including children with SEND and vulnerable groups, can evaluate standards achieved and set realistic targets for improvement

Positive outlook and effective communication and interpersonal skills with children, staff, parents and the wider community

Flexible, approachable and able to motivate, mentor, inspire and effectively lead a team of staff, students and volunteers & other colleagues

Has led staff meetings, training and other CPD

Good report writing

PERSONAL QUALITIES

Resilient and able to handle conflict

Knowledge of how to look after your own and others’ mental health and well-being

Good health and attendance record

An understanding of health & safety practices in a nursery setting

Warmth and a sense of humour

APPROACH TO WORK

Motivated to plan, organise, prioritise on own initiative and meet deadlines

Hardworking and committed to the aims and vision of the Nursery School
