Job Title: Senior Science Technician

We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Senior Science Technician to join our academy. We aim to raise pupils’ aspirations so they begin to believe in themselves and understand that there is no thing holding them back, including where they happen to live or their family’s experience in education.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Science Technician with science lab experience to join an academy that is really going places. The contract on offer is permanent and full time (37 hours per week, Term Time only) and we require the successful candidate to commence employment as soon as possible once onboarding processes are complete. There is a real buzz about our academy and the rate at which our pupils progress, but don’t just take our word for it, come and see us for yourself!


Role Purpose:

  • Coordinating the use of resources and facilities and aid and advice in meeting the practical needs of the curriculum, liaising with teaching staff and other support staff.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment and to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of specialist resources.
  • Routine and non-routine checking, maintenance, calibration, testing and repairing of equipment.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the department.


Pay range:

  • NJC Scale Point Range 8 - 12, Actual Salary £21,168.88 - £22,642.01 (Full Time Equivalent £24,702 - £26,421)


Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in a relevant subject
  • Science lab experience
  • NVQ or equivalent qualifications or experience in a similar position.
  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications (Grades A-C) in English, Maths and Science.
