What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you a passionate and experienced teacher who believes in creating a stimulating, enabling, learning environment? Are you looking for a fresh challenge? Do you want to be part of an ambitious school with a supportive team in an idyllic location? If you are motivated about developing the curriculum, raising standards and providing stimulating learning experiences for young minds, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking to appoint a senior teacher at Beer C of E Primary School, a wonderful and inclusive school on a small site with a huge heart. Our strong Christian Ethos helps to create a warm, calm atmosphere whilst we pride ourselves on our high achievements. The school is part of the St Christopher’s Trust; a family of 18 Church and Community Schools spanning three local authorities and providing a rich network of collaboration.

We are looking for a rigorous practitioner with a creative flair and zest to bring learning to life for all our pupils. You will be experienced and skilful in challenging each pupil, whatever their starting point, using your strong pedagogical practice and philosophy. With high expectations, you will be used to being proactive, as well as collaborating with others, supporting your school to improve. This is an exciting role that will help to shape the future development of the school.

What the school offers its staff

In joining Beer, you will be part of a friendly and welcoming staff team and a supportive community. You will develop your teaching and leadership skills in a Trust that has a strong focus on CPD whatever career stage you are at. As a Church of England school, you will be happy to support the Anglican ethos through our school values.

The school currently has circa 100 happy and motivated children and benefits from wonderfully spacious school grounds. It is also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty meaning the locality can really enrich the curriculum. Many pupils travel to our school for its nurturing reputation within the community. Our vision is ‘Be The Best We Can Be’ and we expect our children, staff and parents to adhere to this. Our core values of hope, patience, friendship and honesty underpin all that we do.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
