What skills and experience we're looking for
NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant
Or
NVQ Level 3 for supporting pupils S.E.N
Or
Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3
Or
Level 3 ILM Certificate in First Line Management.
NVQ Level 3 for IT users
Level 4 ILM Endorsed Certificate (Skills for Middle Leaders)
Good Numeracy & Literacy skills
Child Protection issues.
Health, Safety and Security issues.
Data Protection issues.
An understanding of the National Curriculum and other basic learning programmes.
Basic understanding of child development and learning.
Appropriate knowledge of First Aid
Use of Technology e.g. ICT.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or appropriate relevant experience.
Supervision of staff.
Effective use of resources
Ability to relate well with children and adults.
Ability to work as a member of team.
Behaviour Management Skills

High Well School is a Special School which caters for a minimum of seventy 9-16 year olds with an Education Health & Care Plan for severe and profound social, emotional and mental health needs as well as other learning difficulties. The School meets the needs of some of Wakefield’s most complex and vulnerable young people.
High Well endeavours to provide a nurturing environment with personalised support and specialist teaching to enable our pupils to re-engage in learning, develop their social and emotional skills and leave with not only appropriate qualifications but the skills required to succeed in life after school.
