What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the retirement of the post holder, the Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional, energetic and ambitious Senior Vice Principal to join our well-established School Leadership Team. In a role of critical importance to the development of excellent teaching and learning that will secure good outcomes for all our students, you will work with members of the SLT under the direction of the Principal and be responsible for Personal Development, Inclusion and Data throughout St Peter’s.

You will be responsible for:

  • Raising standards and achievement through the securing of better than expected outcomes for vulnerable students
  • Raising standards and achievement through securing high engagement with Personal Development across the school
  • Evaluating the impact of Personal Development through the monitoring of students conduct
  • Monitoring progress of vulnerable students
  • Providing assessment data to inform strategic decisions
  • Providing a strategic lead for ICT
  • To further develop equality, diversity and inclusion across the school
  • To further develop spiritual, moral, cultural and social education

As an outstanding teacher and leader with demonstrable leadership experience, you will make a significant contribution to the leadership and success of our school. You will have:

  • Experience in the effective management of a high-performing team
  • Experience in the sustained delivery of the Plan, Do, Review model
  • A proven track record in leadership
  • Relevant skills to raise standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
  • Experience in the line management of teams and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion whilst maintaining good communication with stakeholders

As a member of the SLT, you will take a leading role in supporting the governors and other leaders to sustain and develop the school’s ethos to provide a rigorous and broad education within the context of a Catholic environment. You will play a full part in the life of the school community, support its aims and ethos and encourage other staff and students to follow this example.
