Job summary
The role of Senior Vice Principal (SVP) is a vital one for the academy. The Senior VP not only leads on a significant aspect of the Academy (with others), the role fully immerses itself into all areas of school leadership and as such provides an exceptional grounding for headship. The Senior Vice Principal is the acting Principal when the Principal is off site. The role is both operational, ensuring the smooth day to day running of the academy but also highly strategic in moving forward the quality of educational standards. As such, the post is suitable for an already experienced deputy/vice principal, who is ready to embark on a second and significant experience before embarking on their own headship. We have therefore provided opportunities within this role to experience all functions of academy leadership and management. This role may also suit an experienced deputy (or principal) who does not wish to take on the overall responsibility of headship and wishes to provide longer term service to a community.
