Site Assistant job summary

Site Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, hardworking and reliable Site Assistant to join our School to support in providing a clean and safe environment for all users of the school.

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Working hours – Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 3.00pm and Friday 6.30am to 2.30pm

This role is starting at 6.30am with the responsibility of unlocking the school site at this time.

Grade C – £24,405 to £25,430

24 days holiday plus bank holidays

You can expect every day to be varied and busy as you support our staff and pupils by providing a safe, secure and well-maintained school environment.

Team working is an essential skill in this role as well as being able to demonstrate your ability to work independently with the direction of the Site Manager in line with the School’s vision. A good communicator, you’ll have skills to ensure the maintenance, upkeep and development of the school buildings and its infrastructure to required compliancy and cleanliness standards.

You will have a strong enthusiasm to work in a school environment and will have relevant experience including basic DIY skills. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good DIY skills and be happy to work on a wide range of tasks to ensure our grounds and buildings are maintained to a high standard.
  • Be happy to work both inside and out, alongside and under the direction of our Site Manager
  • Take responsibility for security and be a key holder
  • Have pride in their working environment and want the best for our pupils
  • Have a “can do” attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Maintain health and safety standards at all times
  • Carry out the compliance checks as required (Full training provided)
  • Have basic computer skills (training can be provided)
