Site Assistant job summary
We seek to appoint an experienced Site Assistant for our College based in Twickenham to work as part of the site management team.
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, 9am to 5pm (with some flexibility on star and finish times and with an opportunity to work evening shifts) 52 weeks per year. Holidays to be taken outside of term-time.
Salary: NJC scale 4 £22,995 – £24,258 per annum, and additional overtime
The Site Assistant will be part of a committed and enthusiastic team of support staff, providing exceptional support for learning and teaching at our College in order to provide a world class education for our pupils.
The position will involve, amongst other things:
Maintaining the school premises to the highest possible standards
Gather and empty waste bins, removing rubbish, litter picker all around
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them where and when necessary
Clean toilets and stock them with supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels)
Responds to urgent situations, such as spills, that require quick action
Wash windows, walls, and glass
Keep buildings secure by locking doors
Make minor repairs in building, such as changing bulbs
Support the front desk delivery any deliveries
Undertake any other duties as may reasonably been requested by management
Notify managers when a building needs any type of repairs
You will have:
An empathy with, and be fully supportive of, our Catholic identity and mission, if not a practising and committed Catholic
A love for working with and supporting young people
A positive and pro-active attitude to life and work
Previous caretaking, preferably within a school
A working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation
Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, and manage your own workload
Excellent communication skills, being able to competently deal with all of our stakeholders
A friendly, approachable demeanour with an adaptable and flexible outlook, with a willingness to work overtime and be available for emergency call outs, where required
Excellent time-keeping and a responsible, reliable and mature attitude towards work
A willingness to learn and develop
