This role is responsible for ensuring that everyone working, visiting or accessing the organisation’s premises is safe at all times, and ensuring that all safety arrangements comply with legislation and best practice
Future Education is a small Specialist Independent School part of Future Projects Charity. All of our young people have SEMH needs along with associated behavioural difficulties, and many have additional special educational needs. The site provides both academic and vocational facilities along with a range of therapy provision allowing our students engage with learning and acquire the skills and qualifications they need to go on to lead happy fulfilled lives.
This role is based within a varied and interesting working environment and we welcome applicants with experience working within a caretaker or maintenance role ideally within a school environment. We are looking for a multi skilled individual able to undertake a wide variety of maintenance work to keep our School in good order; carrying out general caretaking duties, including some maintenance and repairs. Start/finish times are flexible.
If you have an interest in working with our students as a Vocational tutor imparting your knowledge and skills within a practical area of the curriculum this can be supported and developed. You may be qualified or unqualified as a tutor but willing to pursue further training to deliver practical elements as best fits with your own skills and knowledge such as carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying or other areas. This is not a compulsory element of the role but if you have an interest in developing your career in this direction we would be keen to invest in your future.
You will need to work closely and effectively with the Operations manager and admin team and some aspects of your role may include repair and creative practical design to support our classes and students.
