Site Maintenance Supervisor job summary

The Swan School is looking for an experienced Site Maintenance Supervisor to join our premises team. Reporting to the Premises Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our school site and managing our team of premises assistants and cleaners

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a designated key holder and ensuring site security
  • Ensuring rooms and facilities are set up correctly for school events 
  • Completing minor maintenance tasks and overseeing external contractors for more complex repairs
  • Managing maintenance contractors when on-site and ensuring work is completed to required standards
  • Monitoring stock levesl of equipment and materials, placing orders when required
  • Supervising the school cleaner and monitoring external cleaning contractors
  • Conducting regular health & safety checks and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Line management of premises assistants and daytime cleaner, including setting objectives, monitoring performance and identifying training needs

The ideal candidate will have

  • Supervisory experience in a facilities role
  • Excellent practical skills in maintenance and repair
  • Strong leadership and management abiltiies
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and ability to motivate others
  • Literacy, numeracy and IT skills sufficient for the role
