Opened in September 2019 with Reception and Year 1 classes as the first technology primary to be built by the Trust, Shireland Technology Primary is a two-form entry primary built on the experience and strong foundations of Shireland Collegiate Academy.
Principal Lady Kirsty Grundy believes that harnessing technology for learning can help to engage and enthuse learners and ultimately raise standards. The technology primary helps pupils to develop 21st Century skills that will be crucial for them to go out and be successful in the world in which they live. Technology is interwoven into the broad and balanced E3L (Excite, Explore, Excel learning) curriculum to deliver outstanding learning experiences to pupils.
As the cohorts move up through the school, an additional year group will be added each year up to 2024 when the school will have all year groups populated – reception to year 6.
