Site Manager job summary

About this Role

Are you a hands-on, proactive, and solution-focused individual who takes pride in your work? Do you want to be part of a friendly and welcoming school community? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Site Manager to join our school. This role is key to ensuring our school continues to be a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Our school is a well-maintained site, and we’re looking for someone who will take pride in maintaining and enhancing it. Training will be provided for areas such as health and safety and IT systems, but a positive attitude and hands-on approach are essential.

The role includes a range of responsibilities such as maintenance, janitorial duties, cleaning, keyholding, and managing contractors. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with our pupils and parents as part of our school community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Take pride in their work and maintain high standards.
  • Ensure the school site is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Be proactive in identifying and completing tasks with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Have practical DIY and repair skills to carry out general maintenance.
  • Undertake janitorial and cleaning duties as needed, including line managing our brilliant cleaning team.
  • Engage with and manage external contractors to ensure high-quality work.
  • Be willing to learn and follow health and safety regulations, with training provided.
  • Use basic IT skills for our health and safety management system (training available).

In return, we can offer:

  • A well-maintained site with opportunities to make an impact.
  • Supportive, friendly, and hardworking colleagues.
  • Staff wellbeing initiatives, including an additional paid day off to use as you wish.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with other site staff across our trust.

We are proud of our school and would love to find someone who will care for it as much as we do. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real difference and be part of a caring community, Birches Green Primary School is the place for you!

We strongly recommend an informal visit to our school to see the role in action.
