What skills and experience we're looking for
Dilkes Academy are looking for a self-motivated and practical person to take on the role of Site Manager at our school. The children in our community deserve an excellent education, the Site Manager plays a vital part in this by ensuring that the building is safe and ready for teaching and learning to take place. They will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to the school and its ethos.
Dilkes Academy is a two-form entry primary school with a newly refurbished building and a large site. This role will suit someone who is organised, practical and friendly and who will have a flexible approach to their work and the ability to work independently. The post holder will need to lead a small team of cleaners and liaise with contractors and tradesman as well as students and staff. They will have strong DIY and handyman skills, e.g. decorating, carpentry, plumbing and be willing to learn how to use the systems in the building. The successful candidate will be responsible for making sure the site is safe, secure, well maintained and clean every day.
Ideally, you will possess an awareness of COSHH, Safe Manual Handling practices and Health & Safety and have prior experience of working within a similar setting. (Although, this is not essential.)
Full driving licence and use of your own car is essential as you may be required to attend the school outside of normal working hours.

Our pupils are aged 3 – 11, ranging from Nursery to Year 6, and mainly live in the area surrounding the school. We also have a Personalised Learning Centre that offers specialist provision for 10 pupils. This means we have over 510 pupils in total.
