We are looking for someone who has:

¨ A sound understanding of Safeguarding

¨ The ability to prioritise with a commitment to providing a high quality service

¨ The ability to solicit quotations to achieve best value

¨ Enjoys new challenges in a varied and busy school environment

¨ Possess a hardworking, positive attitude and a willingness to learn

¨ Strong oral, written and IT skills

¨ Reliable and has energy and vision and take pride in their work, who is hardworking and trustworthy

¨ Experience of being able to undertake preventative maintenance and repairs and is practical with good DIY skills

¨ Communicate effectively with a range of people including children, staff visitors and external agencies

¨ Experience of swimming pool maintenance (desired but not essential as training can be given)

You will be expected to:

¨ Act as main key holder, locking and unlocking the school site, including occasional late evening and weekend functions and lettings (if required), along with being contactable during unsociable hours.

¨ Managing the school grounds and overseeing the external grounds team

¨ Work in collaboration with other colleagues

¨ Liaising with and overseeing external contractors, servicing works and small projects

¨ Manage the site, ensuring that it is safe, clean and tidy to provide a high quality learning environment for our children and managing the cleaning staff

¨ Undertake daily site checks

¨ Take a key role in health and safety checks and monitoring including fire, legionella and play equipment with input to COSHH and risk assessments. Adhering to and upholding all school policies in particular Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

¨ Be a positive role model to both staff and pupils

¨ Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs

The Governors of Great Dunmow Primary school are seeking to appoint an experienced and reliable Site Manager to join our friendly and supportive team. We are looking for a person who will take pride in the management, maintenance and cleanliness of the school premises with a ‘can do’ attitude. The position is for 37 hours Monday to Friday (and may include some out of hours) with hours discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. Holidays to be taken out of term time.
