What skills and experience we're looking for
Site Manager
To provide a comprehensive facilities management service to include: Management & Monitoring:
Line management of site team including allocating and scheduling site staff to meet the needs of the school
To achieve compliance and maintenance targets, provide training and coaching as required.
As line manager to address HR matters for the site team; including but not limited to absence management, training & induction of new staff, investigation and disciplinary processes etc.
Ensure effective and prompt response to premises emergencies across the school site, liaising with your team, security company and alarm monitoring stations, informing the Business Manager of any out of hours attendance.
Oversee and manage security systems, including CCTV monitoring and recording, ensuring equipment is maintained and in full working order.
Oversee and manage mini-bus, managing bookings and ensuring there are sufficient trained drivers (D1 and MiDAS) to meet the schools’ needs.
Oversee and manage lettings across the school ensuring the buildings / exterior facilities are available for bookings.
As a main keyholder, participate in a rota and attend site that are associated with call out duties on a 24/7, 52 weeks per year basis.

Working with the site assistants, ensuring day-to-day operational issues are resolved and that any significant site or health & safety issues are escalated to the Business Manager / Headteacher (or their deputy). Communicating with SLT on a regular basis, attending meetings as required and ensuring that they are always up to date with events. To develop excellent working relationships with colleagues internally, centrally and externally across the Academy to help align the school’s vision. To uphold the TKAT/academies’ policies and procedures at all times and ensure any updates are managed and distributed to all schools. Be aware and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person. Participate in training and other learning activities as required for personal development Provide appropriate guidance and supervision and assist in the training and development of staff as appropriate. Manage and supervise compliance and safe working at the school in line with TKAT’s Health & Safety policies/procedures and legal requirements.
Ensure all building plant, machinery and systems are compliant, managing inspections by insurance surveyors and works by third party suppliers.
Comply with all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding and attend necessary training.
Provide regular reports on compliance, as required, to the Business Manager.
Ensure all suppliers follow set controls for contractors and are inducted and have appropriate supervision, provide permits to work if warranted.
Assist with completion of compliance audits.
Ensure effective record-keeping for compliance and premises matters and keep central systems updated as required by the Business Manager and TKAT.
Attend and represent the premises team in Health & Safety Meetings.
Have a first aid qualification, (minimum requirement First Aid at Work).
Provide a site induction/health & safety walk to all new staff Maintenance:
Maintain and manage a PPM planner on ‘Every’ system or future systems
Undertake regular premises inspections; identifying risks and school needs, incorporating these into the school’s premises development plan in collaboration with Business Manager and TKAT’s Estates Team.
Manage and prioritise maintenance and premises equipment.
Focus on renewal of plant and equipment with capital projects to improve the schools’ carbon footprint, the working environment and sustainability of the school.
Manage the school’s premises and maintenance budget.
Carry out compliance and maintenance activities within own abilities and health and safety requirements, and support your team in general repairs and decoration of site.
