Site Manager job summary

The Governors of our large, two-site school are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, committed and appropriately qualified and experienced member of staff to maintain our two school sites.

The successful candidate for the post will need to demonstrate proven experience and commitment to health & safety and the ability to be flexible and creative in developing positive working relationships.

As part of our safeguarding children procedures the successful candidate will be required to undertake enhanced DBS checks.


Core purpose

  • To manage the security, maintenance and development of the premises and grounds, ensuring they are high quality resources that effectively support the complex educational and emotional welfare needs of the students.
  • To lead the Site Team to ensure staff and students have the appropriate environment in which to learn, study and teach.
  • To manage the security, safety and hygiene of the premises and its contents. Ensuring visitors and staff have a secure, safe and pleasant working environment conducive to learning.
  • To lead on premises related health and safety issues.
  • Understand and operate relevant equipment and ICT software, including building management systems and online platforms
  • Coordinate, manage and lead the negotiation, procurement and monitoring the effectiveness of contracts related to the premises
  • To ensure all necessary statutory regulations and ‘good practice’ policies are in place, effectively monitored and reviewed accordingly.
