Site Manager job summary

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Site Manager to lead on day-to-day maintenance and site management. Significant experience as a caretaker, site supervisor or a similar role is essential.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for ensuring the safety and upkeep of the academy premises and grounds, in line with guidance and relevant legislation.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Line management of the Site Team
  • To act as lead on the academy’s energy management strategies
  • Support with the management of Health and Safety across the academy site
  • Liaison with and supervision of contractors
  • Plan and carry out repairs and maintenance of the academy site
  • Act as key holder, opening or closing the site and alarm call out response

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, and in very close proximity to the centre of Birmingham. It is a slightly larger than average, 11-16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,200 students. It has grown over the last few years and is now full and oversubscribed in every year group for the seventh consecutive year. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent. OSCA was graded as a good academy, for the third time in 2023.

The academy has been recognised with a myriad of awards over recent years. These include the Investors In People Gold Award, The Quality In Careers Standard Gold Award, The Basic Skills Quality Mark, and the Artsmark Gold Award.
