St Birinus School is seeking a reliable, dynamic, and enthusiastic Site Manager to lead our caretaking team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our school site. This is a pivotal role ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, creating an environment where both students and staff can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Manage and support the caretaking team, ensuring effective allocation of work and staff cover during absences.
  • Premises Management: Oversee site security, maintenance schedules, health and safety compliance, and emergency response protocols.
  • Contractor Liaison: Supervise and monitor external contractors, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Conduct regular site inspections, manage planned preventative maintenance, and respond promptly to repair needs.
  • Health & Safety: Act as the Main Fire Co-ordinator, ensuring fire safety measures are in place and compliant with regulations.
  • Budget Support: Assist the Trust Estates Lead in managing repairs and maintenance budgets effectively

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, site operations, or similar roles.
  • Supervisory or management experience, with strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE-level English and Maths or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, including manual handling, COSHH, and fire safety protocols.
  • Competency in using IT systems
