Site Manager job summary

The Role: As the Site Manager, you will undertake a range of site management duties to the agreed quality standards, including security, cleaning, porterage, and maintenance of the school site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and operating within the school maintenance budget.
  • Assisting with the determination of medium and long-term strategies for building maintenance and site development.
  • Administering and coordinating building-related matters of maintenance, repair, and servicing.
  • Supervising and providing directive advice to the cleaning staff and any members of the wider site team.
  • Liaising with contractors, obtaining quotations, and supervising contractors on site.
  • Undertaking regular inspections of the site, buildings, and plant, recording necessary repairs, and contacting contractors.
  • Ensuring the security of the premises and attending to the intruder alarms where applicable.
  • Cleaning designated areas and maintaining high standards in these areas.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in a similar site management role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Is a skilled communicator with strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Has a good understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Is proficient in using a wide range of IT.
  • Pays exceptional attention to detail and ensures accuracy in all tasks.
  • Can effectively prioritise and manage their workload independently.
  • Is committed to the values and ethos of Walton Peak Flying High Primary and Nursery Academy
  • Has practical skills in maintenance, DIY, and basic repairs.
  • Is proactive and able to respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Can work collaboratively with school staff and external contractors.
