Sixth Form Administrator job summary

Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London with a strong tradition of excellence. The Co-headteachers are looking to appoint an Sixth Form Administrator. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Sixth form and whole school promoting an outstanding operational assistance at Fortismere School.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the ever-changing needs of both students and the School. They will have a methodical approach to work and be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

A good working knowledge of the Google suite and Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel, is important and experience in a similar role is highly desirable. You should possess a confident and approachable attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines. You will need to have a strong attention to detail, be flexible and capable of working independently, whilst demonstrating a high level of confidentiality at all times.

The purpose of this role is to work alongside the Director of Sixth form with strategic leadership for the Sixth Form in carrying out the day to day operation of Years 12 and 13. The role is student facing, and intended to include administrative support and routine general clerical duties.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the operations team working closely with the Director of Sixth form and Admin lead. The post is 36 hours per week from 8-4pm, Monday to Friday. This role is term tie only, plus one week in the Summer. You will be responsible for providing excellent admin services, support, and compliance across the school.

The successful candidate will have:

A good level of ICT competency, excellent communications skills, and the ability to work flexibly

Have qualifications at or above GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above), or equivalent

Knowledge of admin procedures and ability to assist a variety of stakeholders

The ability to maintain a calm and productive office team across the school

Understand First Aid procedures
