What skills and experience we're looking for

Education and qualifications

GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Math’s. Other qualification to at least Level 3.

Qualification relating to managing and supporting children/young adults

Safeguarding training

Professional knowledge and experience

Experience working with children / young people in an educational or professional setting

Careers guidance ideally for Years 12 & 13

Able to build effective professional working relationships with students, parents/carers, staff and outside agencies

Willingness to learn, able to adapt and work within established team embracing restorative approaches to behaviour management

Good organisational skills, able to manage and prioritise tasks effectively

Good problem solver, able to work towards solutions

The ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Ability to input, analyse and present information effectively

Experience working with young people within the Secondary sector

Knowledge of post-16 education

Experience of mentoring and coaching

Knowledge of progression routes for students
