Sixth Form Pastoral Assistant job summary

We are seeking a new Pastoral Support Assistant to join our caring and successful Sixth Form team. To be successful in this role, you will need to be committed to supporting the school’s work of engaging students in learning. You will be a part of all aspects of pastoral care including welfare and attendance, and will contribute to a caring and supportive learning environment for all our Sixth Form students. This one year post has become available due to an internal promotion to cover a maternity vacancy. This presents an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking experience in a school before committing to teacher training, with a strong possibility of continuation after one year. Alternatively, the role could be adapted to include more administrative tasks for a suitable applicant. This position will work during term time plus 1 day for A Level Results Day, 3 days for GCSE Results & 1 day for September INSET.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to working. We are looking for an individual who is empathetic and has the passion and enthusiasm to support the young people at our school to achieve their potential. Because of the high level of responsibility and broad scope of duties, a real commitment to the role combined with a willingness to be flexible in sharing and scheduling the workload, are essential components of this job.
