SLT Support and Office Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised SLT Support and Office Administrator to join us and become an integral member of our welcoming, supportive and friendly teams. We are looking for someone who is self motivated and friendly to manage the sudent services desk, and support with administration for both the senior leadership team and HR.

This is a key post within the Academy which requires a highly efficient and professional approach and calls for the ability to work on one’s own and to use judgement and initiative, as well as the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the administrative team to support the needs of the Academy.


The ability to remain calm and controlled under the pressures of working in a very demanding and constantly changing environment is essential, this is also essential whilst covering Student reception.Prior experience working in an office environment is required and office experience gained in a school environment would be a bonus.

Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Managing the Student Services Desk, assisting on the Main Reception as and when required, including staff absences

1. To provide an efficient, confidential, and professional secretarial and administrative support to members of the SLT to support them in the delivery of their duties, assignments, and initiatives.

HR admin, filing of confidential documents and any other HR queries.

Processing correspondence and documentation.

Preparing communications (composing letters/emails, proof reading and distributing communications via post and/or electronically).

Responding to telephone and other enquiries from staff and parents.

Liaising as necessary with staff, students, parents, professional colleagues, external agencies, and the public.

General office administrative duties; including ordering supplies.

Support the work of the wider administrative team to ensure that the Academy runs well.

Successful Candidate will have

Minimum 2 - 3 years experience within an office/education environment

Good communication skills

Approachable, hard worker, ability to work as part of a team and also alone

Undertake ad hoc tasks

Flexibility to cover admin/pa absences

Contract 37hrs per week, Term-time plus 3 weeks per year, to be agreed in advance.

Salary NJC L4 Point 9 £25,119 FTE (pro rata £23,428)

Job Role Permanent, Full time, Term time and INSET days plus 3 weeks,

37 hours per week Monday- Thursday 8am – 4pm Friday 8am-3:30pm
