The LiFE Multi Academy Trust: Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant
Paid at Grade 6 (points 9 – 10)
£20,445 to £20,770 (actual salary) 34 hours per week, plus 5 days for training
Required ASAP for one academic year in the first instance
Applications are sought for a committed Teaching Assistant with experience of working with students who display Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. We require the successful applicant to support and contribute to the students’ effective learning experience. The role will involve curriculum planning, safeguarding, EHCP reviews, and building family relationships. We also require the ability to support physical education activities. This is a truly unique opportunity, to help play a major role in the development of our SEMH learning centre, as a standalone school.
The SHINE Centre is a through provision educating up to 30 students from KS1 through to KS4 across three separate buildings on the Winstanley secondary and Kingsway primary site. These are bespoke Learning Centres, self-contained, with their own dedicated staff. The centre runs as a ‘school within a school’. The SHINE Centre name reflects the values that are already embedded within The Winstanley School – Supporting others, Hard work, Independence, Never giving up, and Excellence.
We have high expectations of all staff within the LiFE Multi Academy Trust, which makes it an exciting and innovative place to work. We understand that this role will require support and encouragement to design what we hope becomes the ‘Blue Print’ for how in-school SEMH resource should be run.
